Cara's dad,

improved, more vibrant and.... LOUDER "ACE!" call
whenever our girls serve up the magic ace.
During the latest testing of his "ACE!" call, he set
off the fire alarms system at Cal Poly Pomona.
Please make
your reservations for the Regional Tournament May
31-June 1! I am looking for two parents to be
chaperones on Saturday night; please call me if you
can be a chaperone. The Hotel expenses have not been
include as part of this year’s dues because many
teams played locally last year and did not need the
hotel. I am advising making reservations, we can
cancel as late as Thursday prior to tournament if we
have a local site…. If we are in LA/Orange county,
we will be staying at the:

Year End
Tournament in Kentucky
Dear Parents:
The end of the year tournament is
fast approaching… I need to know by
week’s end if you will be attending
the tournament in Kentucky. Coast
has reserved flights and hotels for
our teams all parents need to stay
at the team hotel. Joani and Nina
have graciously volunteered to be
the flight chaperones… there will be
seats available on the various
flights for parents to travel with
the team however it is not required
that you fly to Kentucky on the same
flight as the team.
The team will be departing June 25
and returning July 1. The tournament
runs from 6/27-6/30.
1. A complete list of players’ names
as they appear on the player’s ID –
also, request a physical copy of
each player’s ID. PLEASE bring this
to practice. (I have copies of all
the ID’s)
2. Name of Coach traveling with the
team, as it appears on their ID.
3. Name of Chaperones traveling with
the team, as it appears on their ID.
Once I have the above information, I
will send you the flight numbers and
times that your team booked on for
Louisville.
We also need a team vote on whether
we would like to chip in for two
more rooms so the girls will have
their own beds during this week.
Personally I think it’s best they
don’t share, Below is the
information I received on this
additional charge.
We calculated a "best guesstimate"
for the additional charge per player
to accommodate 2 vs. 4 players per
room:
$120 - $135/per player for the week!
Of course, the final cost per player
for 2/room will be calculated on
actual costs.
Please let me know if your are
willing to add this expense for the
benefit of the girls. We need 100%
on board to do this.
If you have any questions feel free
to email me or call.
Thanks again for all you do. Cathy

2008 Driving
Schedule 18Karolyn-Mizuno
Dear Parents:
Please find attached, preliminary Driving and
Chaperone Schedule. Please note I have not assigned
drivers for DAY 2/3 of JNQ if you’ll be attending
and can drive please let me know as soon as
possible. If you need to make changes… please let me
know ASAP… the final will be coming out on Monday
and any changes after that will be the
responsibility of the Driver….
We are having a shortage of rooms at the Hampton Inn
for the JNQ I have rooms reserved for our chaperones
+ about 2 extra… please call me if you are not a
chaperone and would like a room at the Hampton Inn
or closer to the ASC which is where most of the
matches will be held. I’m currently holding the
extra rooms for those parents who will assist in
driving players on Saturday and Sunday.
Thank you All parents and players for your work at
Vegas…. Camps were always set up, waters/endura’s
always delivered… the list is endless! Thank you … I
know the coaches truly appreciate all you did to
make the weekend run smoothly. Cathy
Joanie added
the Camp Set Up Schedule. Due to overwhelming
demand, she had to institute a lottery to allow the
thousands of applicants to all receive a fair shot
at getting up at 4 am on game day.

Positions - Grab Now Before You Are Assigned

Good morning parents...
We will be playing at the Anaheim
Sports Center this Sunday @8:00am. Last weekend Rod Aries
volunteered to be our Early bird and got the girls 2 great
camp sites. 1 was inside the gym (which there were only 2
spots avail.) and 1 area right outside the gym door. GREAT
JOB ROD-THANK YOU!!!!
(hmmm, let's see if you can pick the correct response 1)
It was a real honor to be selected to do this for our last
tourney. How was I so fortunate to be chosen among all the
other worthy parents? or, 2) It is such a joy to somehow
contribute my time and free labor so that all girls and
parents and coaches can benefit by showing-off our prime
volleyball real estate to those less fortunate, or, 3) no
brown-nosing me Joanie, I only did because my daughter was
told she wouldn't play unless I did...)
I would like to set up a schedule for the rest of the season
if possible for our "Camp Site Clamstaker's". Would each of
you please let me know which date or dates you are willing
to be at the playing site, usually 2hrs. before our start
time to grab spots outside (and inside if possible) It is
such a benefit to our girls and coach to know that they will
have everything set up and ready for them!
PLEASE CHOOSE A COUPLE OF DATES SO THAT WAY WE HAVE SOME
CHOICES. IF YOU ARE A SCHEDULED DRIVER FOR A PARTICULAR
TOURNAMENT YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO BE A CAMP SITE
CLAIMSTAKER. PLEASE RESPOND BY FEBRUARY 20TH. (EARLIER WOULD
BE GREAT)
Thank you all for your support and commitment to our team,..
We have a GREAT group of girls!
Any questions, please feel free to
drop me a note, or give me a call on my cell 760-519-1632..
Hugs,..... Joani
